The annual Fire Engine Rally and Parade took place on Saturday, 17th August 2012. The rally featured fire appliances from the 19th Century to the current day and was organised by the Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Preservation Group.
The Parade of Fire Engines from the Fire station in Canal Street set off in torrential rain and indeed it did not brighten up till late afternoon. However, the rain did not deter families and the kids were only too happy to try out the the Fire Engines on display as well as being captivated by the demonstrations put on by the Firefighters.
