    Renfrewshire’s Doors Open Day takes place this year on 13th and 14th September. Many of Paisley’s top attractions will be throwing open their doors once again to give the public the opportunity to see what lies beyond. For further details go to www.doorsopenday.org.uk

The annual Sma’ Shot Day Parade took place on Saturday 5th July

The parade led by the Charlston Drum started off at the Dooslan Stane in the Brodie Park at 11am and despite the poor weather was well attended.

Demolition of Blackhall Court an d Ardgowan Court was completed in early May 2008. The contractors, Reigart Ltd then moved on to the Millarston Flats demolition which were duly blown up in the early hours of Sunday 13th July.

Saturday 15th September 2007 was the feast of St Mirin, and what better tribute to the patron Saint of Paisley than to unveil a new statue to him.

Saturday 8th September & Sunday 9th September was the dates for the annual Doors Open Day in Renfrewshire.

On Saturday doors were open in Paisley,Renfrew,Bishopton,Inchinnan and Erskine, and on Sunday it was the turn of Johnstone,Elderslie,Kilbarchan,Houston, Howwood and Lochwinnoch.

This was your once-a-year chance to see behind closed doors so get ready to be amazed at Renfrewshire’s hidden wonders.

Sunday, 26th August 2007 seen the annual Paisley 10k race through the streets of Paisley. Over eight hundred runners tok part in the main event, with many more taking part in the 3k fun run. The main event was started by new Provost, Celia Lawson who praised the first class organisation of the race. The race was won by Robert Gilroy, and in second place for the second year running was Allan Adams. The first lady home was Jill Knowles, followed by Leanne Hamilton. Click here for more pictures.
