The sun shone and a record number of runners competed in the 2009 Paisley 10k Race and Fun Run watched by an appreciative crowd. The 10k was race was dominated by the African competitors running out of Shettleston Harriers Club - taking the first four places in the men’s race. First place was taken by Tsegai Tewelde, 2nd was Tsegezgab Woldmichael, 3rd - Amanuel Hagus, 4th - Teweldeberhan Mengisteab and 5th was Paul Sorrie. Scot Hawkins of Kilbarchan AC was the first local athlete home , finishing in 6th place...
In the Ladies race the winner was Hayley Haining of Kilbarchan AC with Melissa Whyte second and Alison Docherty in third place.
